Inventor İrfan Akkaya enthusiastically started working to turn the idea into a product as a result of an incident he experienced during air travel in 2001.
He describes the process of invention as follows;
‘While traveling on a foreign airline’s plane, flight attendant gave everyone travel kits containing a toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste. With my engineer friend next to me, we thought, “Can we put this paste into the toothbrush?” We researched manufacturers around the world after returning from the trip. Then we decided that we can produce the better, healthiest and most innovative unique product ourselves. As a result of extensive R&D studies that lasted for 1.5 years, we developed ourselves and completed the prototype studies and trials of the product in 2002 and registered our pre-pasted disposable toothbrush to the Turkish Patent Institute.
Since we think that the tooth brushing habit is not sufficient in our country, we started this business with the vision of health. We first made the first sales of our product to the Ministry of Health and its affiliated hospitals, then to dental hospitals and kindergartens.’

İrfan Akkaya formed the intellectual foundations of Akdiş Practico during a plane travel in 2001. Thanks to own entrepreneurial spirit, he completed his first developed physical product with an intensive work of 1.5 years and received approval from the Ministry of Health.
Export to the whole world
Mr. Akkaya received great praise from everyone for the social responsibility aspect of his innovative project. He was selling pre-pasted toothbruh only in his hometown in 2001, but today he exports products to 16 different countries. Today, Mr. Akkaya’s workshop has an annual production capacity of 5 million pieces. He shapes his activities in the faramework of the basic principle of “adding value to people”…
Turkish Market
Mr. Akkaya started to work to help people get a tooth brushing habit first in his neighborhood and then in the city of Samsun, where he live. He started to sell his pre-pasted disposable toothbrushes to the whole country in a short time.
